Weekend Events Roundup - Sept. 28, 2019

Fall is here! That means pumpkins, corn mazes and celebrating the harvest. Of course, there are lots of events happening around Oregon for the occasion.

This weekend, Oktoberfest celebrations continue and the start of fall marks the start of harvest season! Lots of great local performers will be on display this weekend, including musicians, comedians and burlesque dancers.

Oregon Burlesque Festival - $25

Friday, Sept. 27 and Saturday, Sept. 28 - 9pm

Alberta Rose Theatre - 3000 NE Alberta St.

This sixth-annual festival is one of Oregon’s biggest celebrations of sexiness and sultry performance. The spirit of burlesque is to give women control over the audience’s gaze, and this two-night show will feature dozens of performers of all ages and shapes.

Flummunity Fest

Friday, Sept. 27 - 11am

This second annual celebration of all things fashion and design features local garment makers and artists. The weekend-long celebration even includes yoga, a shoe-making station and a wedding! Unfortunately, there’s NOWHERE on the Facebook event or the event’s official blog listing where it is specifically, or how much it costs. That said, it was too cool an event not to highlight, so if you want to attend, you may have to do some investigating on your own.

Oregon Zoo Oktoberfest - $12

Saturday, Sept. 28 - 4pm to 7pm

Oregon Zoo - 4001 Canyon Rd.

Oktoberfest is in full swing around the state, but this unique event provides the opportunity to also interact with wildlife! Tickets grant access to the brewfest on site, as well as to the zoo’s animal ambassadors.

Marion Polk Food Share - 4320 Winema Place

Autumn is here! That means pumpkin patches, corn mazes and the celebration of all things agriculture. This family-friendly event features live demonstrations, a produce market, and culinary arts of all kinds.

Saturday, Sept. 28 - 10am to 2pm

Corner of Summer and Marion Streets

The weekly showcase of local artisans and farmers returns again, featuring live music and street performances.

Marion Square Park Cleanup - Free!

Sunday, Sept. 29 - 3pm

Marion Square Park - 551 Commercial Street

This park always needs some attention and TLC, so come help clean up your community! It’s not an art event, but urban greenspaces are worth the shout-out.

Friday, Sept. 27 - 6pm to 9pm

Pfeiffer Winery - 25040 Jaeg Rd. - Junction City

Local blues and rock bands pair nicely with a glass of local wine!

Lane County Master Gardener Fall Festival - Free!

Saturday, Sept. 28 - 10am to 4pm

Emerald Park - 1400 Lake Dr.

This market and showcase of local greenthumbs will provide family-friendly fare for everyone.

Fall Harvest Food Fest - $25

Sunday, Sept. 29 - 1pm to 4pm

Junction City Local Aid - 210 E 6th Ave. - Junction City, OR

This showcase of Lane County’s rural artisans is an annual occasion in Junction City. It will feature a local folk rock band and proceeds go to help the less fortunate.


Bend Film Festival Kickoff - $25

Friday, Sept. 27 - 6pm to 9pm

G5 - 550 NW Franklin Ave. Suite 200

While the festival itself isn’t until mid-October, this kickoff party is a chance to get a sneak peak at some of the films that will be featured. The theme of the event is The Great Gatsby, so dress to the nines!

Bend Roots Revival Festival - Free!

Saturday, Sept. 28 - 1pm

Deschutes Brewery Warehouse - 399 SW Shevlin Hixon Dr.

This all-day festival features six stages for local bands and local bands only, so come out to support your community’s musical talent.

Comedy at Craft - $15

Saturday, Sept. 28 - 8pm

Craft Kitchen and Brewery - 62988 Layton Ave. Suite 103

This recurring event features the talents of local comedians.


21 and Over Harvest Festival Night - $18

Friday, Sept. 27, 2019 - 5pm to 10pm

Whites Country Farm - 3939 W Main St.

Adults deserve to enjoy pumpkin patches and fair rides, too! This 21+ event will feature a roaming bar, plenty of food and live music.

Greater Medford Multicultural Fair - $18

Saturday, Sept. 28 - 10am to 4pm

Pear Blossom Park - 312 E 4th St.

The 26th annual event features live performances of all cultural persuasions, along with street vendors and cuisine from all over the world.

Comedy Night

Saturday, Sept 28 - 8pm to 10pm

Chadwick’s Pub and Sports Bar - 2300 Biddle Rd.

Featuring hour-long sets by two professional comedians, this is a night of laughs in Southern Oregon.

Oregon Coast

Crave the Coast - $25

Saturday, Sept. 28 - 11am

Port of Garibaldi - 107 Jerry Creasy Way - Garibaldi, OR

This festival will feature local foods and vendors, as well as live performances. Kids get in free!

Bar K Buckaroos

Saturday, Sept. 28 - 7pm

Public Coast Brewing - 264 E 3rd St. - Cannon Beach, OR

This western swing band features music from lots of different eras. Local bands to open the show.

Florence Festival of Books

Friday, Sept. 27 - 7pm and Saturday, Sept. 28 - 10am to 4pm

Florence Events Center - 715 Quince St. - Florence, OR

This literary celebration is a great chance to buy books, support local literary sellers and hear presentations from local and national authors. Admission is free on Saturday, but talks on Friday night will cost up to $10.
