Portland


24th Portland Polish Festival - Free!

Saturday, Sept. 21 - 11am to 10pm

Polish Hall - 3900 N. Interstate Ave.


With a reported 12,000+ attendees at last year’s annual Polish Festival, this is the biggest such cultural celebration in the state and the oldest in the Western United States. Live stage entertainment and tons of food and drink all day!


Community Music Center Open House

Saturday, Sept. 21 - noon to 4pm

CMC auditoriums and classrooms - 3350 SE Francis St.


This free open house will feature live performances, workshops and demonstrations. If you’re in or around Portland, it’s the place to take your kids to get some art in their lives this weekend.


Art Fair Portland - $10

Saturday, Sept. 21 - noon to 6pm

Multnomah Arts Center - 7688 SW Capitol Hwy.


This exhibition and avant-garde art fair will feature the works of local artists, along with live talks.



Salem


OktoberFest (various locations) - Free!

Saturday, Sept. 21 - noon to 8pm

Salem Ale Works - 2315 25th St.


Local breweries and live music will be featured at this parking lot party at SAW this weekend. There are Oktoberfest celebrations all over the valley, but this is likely to be one of the biggest in Salem proper.


Salem Sip & Paint - $30

Saturday, Sept. 21 - 1pm

Arcane Cellars Winery - 22350 Magness Rd. NW


This is an afternoon art class that you can sample some local wines at, too. Minors are welcome (not to drink, of course!)



Eugene


WOW Hall Rummage Sale and Busker Fest - Free!

Saturday, Sept. 21 - 10am

WOW Hall - 291 W. 8th Ave.


This all-day fair will feature crafted work of all kinds up for sale, as well as the live talents of various local performers.


Historic Homes Walking Tour - $20

Saturday, Sept. 21 - 4pm - 6:30pm

East Skinner Butte Neighborhood


Architecture is art, too! And the historic homes of this neighborhood are some of Eugene’s oldest and most breathtaking. The exact address of the meet-up is withheld until registration, and the website can be found here.


Social Distortion & Flogging Molly - $58

Cuthbert Amphitheater - 2300 Leo Harris Pkwy.


The classic punk band Social Distortion joins forces with the Irish-Celtic punk group Flogging Molly in Eugene for a night of music at this outdoor venue.



Bend


Dorothy - $20

Friday, Sept. 20 - 9pm

Domino Room - 51 NW Greenwood Ave.


In the first of two live shows at the Domino Room this weekend, Dorothy will rock out with attendees in Bend on Friday night.


Bend OktoberFest - Free!

Saturday, Sept. 21 - 11am

Downtown Bend - Irving Ave. & Oregon Ave.


This all-day festival celebrates the food, drink and culture of Germany and is a free, family-friendly event. Those wanting steins and drink tokens should purchase them online before the event. The lines get long!


Dub Trio - $13

Saturday, Sept. 21 - 8pm

Domino Room - 51 NW Greenwood Ave.


While the band was formed to pay tribute to Jamaican dub music of the 1960s and ‘70s, Dub Trio is an eclectic mix of punk, metal and electronica, too. The trio lends its talents to the Domino Room in downtown Bend this weekend.



Medford


Talent Harvest Festival - Free!

Saturday, Sept. 21 - 10am to 4pm

This agricultural fair not only offers an open-air produce market, but live music and arts and crafts of all kinds.


Gypsy Gillis Band

Saturday, Sept. 21 - 9pm

Pier 21 - 841 W Stewart Ave.


This local band, featuring a bluesy rock sound, will entertain the crowd at Pier 21 this weekend.

The hip-hop artist, known for his stoner classic “Because I Got High,” is back touring in Oregon again.

This annual festival provides hands-on crafts and demonstrations of all kinds, celebrating the agricultural life of rural Oregon.

This is one of the largest showcase of kites and other flying craft in Oregon. The colors, designs and dances of the sky-high kites will provide lots of creativity on display.
