Dead Air Fresheners 5:15 Happy Half-Hour - Free

We have another Friday happy half-hour with the Dead Air Fresheners, a house band from an “anarchist jurisdiction”. The Dead Air Fresheners are a family band that is out of this world. They have been described as "the Partridge Family for experimental music". Their stream is not just music, though, it is also a visual experience. This finely-crafted livestream is wild and ridiculously fun.

If you watch NBC’s The Voice, you might recognize Thunderstorm Artis since he, along with his brother Ron, were finalists on the show. Thunderstorm (which is his real name and easily the best name ever) will be at the Alberta Rose Theatre, and you can grab a virtual ticket for the low price of $20.

Portland Columbia Symphony: Wind Quintet - Free

The local non-profit organization, “Great Arts. Period.,” is bringing you a fantastic virtual concert featuring the Portland Columbia Symphony’s woodwind quintet. The livestream will feature works by Gershwin, Hindemith and more. You can find the stream here.

Join DJ Tomas Diablo on Twitch for a night of 80s dance music. He’ll be jamming out to some new wave, pop, rock, and how could an 80s night be complete without one-hit wonders? This is an all-ages event so bring the kids around the computer and get your dance on.

WNPDX Stream Fest 8.0

What’s Next PDX presents another stream fest! We have previously featured WNPDX and their streams, and this weekend you can catch the Goonsquad World Wide as they take over the livestream. What is Goonsquad World Wide you ask? They are a Portland-based event planning group that helped bring you the Lowkey Tour, the Infinite Overrun Tour and more. This should be an interesting takeover.

Virtual Stargazing - Free

Saturday, Nov. 21 - 7 pm

The Central Coast Astronomical Society, an “informal” non-profit which was established in 1979, will be offering a glimpse into the cosmos with their free virtual stargazing event. If you love staring at the stars but just feel like your eyes can’t bring you the true awesomeness that is the galactic wonderland above us, check this event out. This event will focus on objects visible from binoculars or small telescopes. Additionally, the CCAS has provided two handy printouts for you to follow along with. Learn more here.

The Brothers Jam - Free

Saturday, Nov. 21 - 8 pm to 10 pm

PDX Couch Tour, a Portland-based livestreaming group, is hosting another night of great music. The Brothers Jam, a jam-band with a collective 30 years of jamming out, will be filling your ear canals with music in the vein of Grateful Dead, Phish, and other classic jam bands. You bring the peanut butter, and they’ll provide the jam (please laugh). Learn more here.

Grand Ronde 37th Restoration Celebration

Sunday, Nov. 10 - 10 am to 11:30 am

First, a bit of history: On November 22, 1983, the federal government restored the US government’s recognition of Grand Ronde as a tribal government with the Grand Ronde Restoration Act. The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde have celebrated ever since. With Covid still raging they have decided to take the event online. That means you will have the ability to join along with the tribes as they celebrate. Learn more here.
