Curbside Press ventured deep into the far corners of the internet for local arts events so that you don’t have to. Here’s the roundup of safe, socially distanced events happening near you, no matter where you are in Oregon.
Our editor's pick is Milwaukie’s Porchfest, an outdoor concert series held each Friday until Sept. 11. Musicians of all skills and ages will be performing on their stoops, stairs, and lawns for their neighbors. For the rest of the weekend, listen to some Beethoven with a Fifth Symphony livestream, and watch Shrek 2 in Sublimity. Check out all this and more below. Be sure to share this events roundup with the art-lovers in your life.
Have a safe and fun weekend, Curbsiders.

SOCIAL DISTANCING EVENTS
Milwaukie Porchfest 2020 Concert Series
Every Friday - Aug. 21 - Sept. 11
Since COVID-19 continues to halt large public gatherings, cities and organizations have had to come up with creative ways to engage with their communities. One example is Milwaukie, just south of Portland. The community is holding a Porchfest concert series every Friday through Sept. 11. Much like the Porchfest in Grants Pass that Curbside Press covered back in 2017, performers will play on their lawns and front stoops, showcasing local musicians throughout the city. Everyone is encouraged to get out their instrument, get out to the porch, and join into the communal celebration. Social distancing and masks will be required. Check here for more information.
