Second Annual Juneteenth Events Roundup - June 18, 2021

Updated: Aug 17, 2021

This weekend America celebrates Juneteenth, which is an incredibly important day, as it’s the day (June 19, 1865) that the last slaves in Texas had been told of their freedom from slavery, over two full years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation (January 1, 1863).

This year feels extra exciting as yesterday, President Joe Biden signed into law a bill that adds Juneteenth to the list of federally recognized holidays.

With all of that explained, we are overjoyed to present to you Curbside’s second Juneteenth weekend roundup. We have quite a few different Juneteenth community events that are sure to get you in a celebratory mood. Additionally, as it is still Pride month we have some great LGBTQIA+ events as well. All of the events we are covering in this event roundup will be adhering to Covid guidelines and restrictions.
